The Basic Aquabox The Aquabox 30

What is AQUABOX?

In war-torn areas of the world, or areas that have suffered natural disasters such as flooding or typhoons, even the most basic provisions are unavailable and this often results in disease, famine and loss of life on a massive scale. AQUABOX provides some of the basic needs to sustain life.

The AQUABOX scheme was originally conceived by a Rotary Club in Derbyshire and is now an official project of Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland.

The function of AQUABOX is twofold:

 -         to provide clean, fresh water and a facility to store it

 -         to provide basic, lifesaving provisions

The AQUABOX a heavy-duty plastic box containing a Water Filter Cartridge and Purification Tablets and also provides a facility to store fresh, clean water.

Because of its size, it also gives the facility to send clothes, tools and other basic life-saving items.

The AQUABOX project will provide help to thousands of families in many countries including the Darfur region of Sudan; Angola, where there are still many thousands of homeless families following many years of civil war, and Afghanistan, where the numbers of displaced people is now in the millions.
